I've got an older Compaq Presario 1425 monitor that someone offered to buy, though naturally he's going to want to see how it works. My current E70f is definetely refreshing much faster than the Compaq thing, and I'm a little nervous about just plugging in the Compaq given that I've heard telling monitors to refresh faster than they're meant to is generally bad. Anything simple I can do to make a painless transistion that only needs to last for a a few minut es before I switch back? Is Mandrake 8.0 likely to detect the thing before it starts X if I just reboot?
