Hi,
has anyone made any experiences with this raid controller under kernel-2.4?
The documentation in the kernel sources dosn't make me clear if this controller is entirely supported. Under the point of IDE controllers and then in the subpoint "HPT 366 chipset support" this controller is mentioned but only as an UDMA100 controller and not as a RAID one. And there's no description about this driver support for the hpt370 at all.

Thanks for your help,

Bernd

Hello,

Well, I have the Abit KT7-RAID board with the onboard HPT370 controller. Mandrake 7.2 has no problems with that one. Only thing you can't/shouldn't do is to enable any kind of RAID in the HPT370 BIOS, at least under Linux.
IDE hardware RAID is a no-go, at least for that controller.
