I will be getting Mandrake soon, and would like to know if I will have any hardware problems. I checked out the Mandrake's compatibility list, but I would also like to get a personal opinion from you pros =]. My system specs are:

P3 733 MHz
Tyan Trinity 400 (s1854) mobo with VIA Apollo Pro133A Chipset
GeForce256 SDR (Creative OEM)
Aureal SQ2500 (this wasn't on the sound card compat list)
Nec DVD-ROM drive (8x)
Plextor 12/10/32A (EIDE)
3Com 56k Controller Modem (internal, not winmodem)
Epson Stylus Color 400 printer

Currently, I'm running under Win 98SE and would like to dual-boot. Thanks for the help in advance!

Aureal and Geforce drivers can be a pain to get working, but they do work. Turn off PNP OS in the bios.

like he said the gforce is a pain to get working (the right way, ie. 3d games) but it can happen, i have know some people with sound cards off the list. but they have always been able to get it to work.

for the most part anything can be done in linux, if you read the right thing or know enough to do it for the first time :P

There are aureal drivers at sourceforge, just search for "aureal". They work fine for my Aureal Vortex 2 (au8830).

You can find them here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/aureal/

geforce will work out of the box.
aureal won't... and afaik... these drivers can be buggy.
