Well I'm about to install Redhat 7.0 and start using that as my prime system. But before I go on I want to know if someone has a good web site/ URL to find a way to get all my options (Cable In, Video In, Video Out) on my ATI All-In-Wonder 128 working and what software they suugest using on it.I want to be able to download all this and put it on a CD before i start installing the system. Here is my Hardware Configuration...
I have a
Tyan Tiger 133 (S1834) Motherboard
PIII 600Mhz
384 megs of ram (pc-100)
ATI All-InWonder 128 AGP2x/4x
Acer CD-RW
SoundBlaster 128 with LiveDrive (will this work also?)
P.O.S. Monitor (for now)
Netgear 310 Network card.
External Creative 56k modem that connects through Serial Port.
DiamondMax Maxtor 20GB Hard Drive
and A partridge in a pear tree.

Basiclly what will work. What doesn't work. What programs would you suggest for this hardware. And where can I get them?

:D

Did you check Redhat's hardware compatibility list for version 7?

Why not just do the install and fix whatever doesn't work after. Maybe everything will.

If not, then post back what you need help with.

Cause I try to avoid problems and I consider avoiding Redhats site also avoiding a problem. Have you ever been there? The site is garbage. The search Engine on it sucks. And they dont have anything in any real order.

No I never have. Always been a Caldera user.

Thought the hardware list would give you at least a start before someone else could help.

mdwatts is giving you the best advice. Redhat should have a hardware compatibility list for their distro. Maybe someone knows the link to it and can help you out. I wouldn't know, I don't use RH.

::small smile:: I know he is giving good advise. I'm just generally an @$$. But I know have Redhat 7 installed. Seems everything is working ok. Except for the Live!Drive and the TV In/Out... If anyone knows any good programs to use with ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro for viewing TV through the cable line please let me know. Also If anyone has any idea how to get a Kensington VideoCAM VGA USB PC Cam to work (yea i know Kensington is garbage... it was free :-P) that too would be helpful.
Thanks everyone for helping so far. And thank you to those who will now answer this.

I have no idea about the live drive but check this out for your video cam, there's a linux driver for it here.
