you mean, something like /dev/ttyS2 (ack, i can never remember the proper capitalization!)? since every desktop comp that i have has two on-board serial ports, i like to reserve *S0 & *S1 for those, whether enabled or disabled, but that's a personal preference.
have i completely missed the point?
