Are you using USB or LPT? You may need to rerun the printer configuration, have it rescan the devices (I know this can be done in Redhat... I am sure it is similar for Mandrake). I know that I have had this problem in Redhat and that is how I solved it. (FYI, I was using USB)

What version of hpijs do you have installed? Type the following to determine what version you are running: hpijs -h

Hope this helps... let me know,

it is LPT
HP Inkjet Server 0.97
hpijs -h reveals:
"invalid usage"
i tried to rescan printer
configure seems to think that i am all set
when i send a test page nothing happens
the driver worked during install

Are you using cups? I had this problem and found that cups wasn't running on boot.

Go into the Control Centre, and see if what services are turned on at boot. If your printer service isn't, turn it on.

You may want to upgrade to the latest hpijs driver or to at least 1.0.4 (I know this one works, had some problems with 1.1). You can get the driver upgrade at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=16846

BTW, is your printer "on" when in Linux? The printer must be "on" in order to print, unlike Winblows... where the printer will automatically turn on.

HPs website does give too much more information. I know that with my printer (also a 932c) I was using USB and had to unplug and replug the USB cable once and has been working fine since. Interesting huh?

I hope that this helps... let us know how it goes.

i appreciate the help

i am unsure about the printer "on"
where would i tell that information
how do i turn it on if it is not?

I just meant the "on" button on the printer itself. I know that when I have tried to print to it, the printer would ONLY work when the printer (itself) was on (look for the far green LED on the top of the printer :) )

I know I didn't explain it well enough the last time, so you should know where I am coming from now.

Sorry for any confusion,
Tall Paul
