I'm shopping for a new motherboard. I want USB2.0 SocketA. I'll probably get an Asus or Abit. Does anyone know of any problems with Linux with this config.
Thanks

Socket 7? For an old K6-2, K6-3 or Pentium? Do they still make socket 7 boards?

Socket A. It's sometimes hard to read my handwriting.

Should work. I'm running an Abit KT7A, unless my memory has just completely gone (hey, once the motherboards in how often do you really need to remember make/model?? :) )
I haven't had any troubles with it.
On saying that, USB is something I haven't had to deal with too far, and since the only USB device I've ever connected to my system is my mouse, i don't know the real difference between USB2.0 and any other previous incarnations, I have better things to spend my time reading books about, like stuff to get through my exams. I'd be surprised if there were any real problems tho'.

USB 2.0 is much faster allowing you to hookup hard drives and the like without penalty.
Looks like ASUS A7V333 VIA KT333 UDMA133 3DDR 5PCI Audio USB2.0 ATX is the right answer.

You can goto Motherboards.org (http://www.motherboards.org) and maybe find some reviews and whatnot to compare!
