In my control panel it says that I have an unknown cd-rom followed by the name and model of the rom: HITACHI DVD-ROM GD-2500
However, after reading some posts I tried writing: mount /mnt/cdrom
in the terminal window, I can then access my cd-rom, but I can't do this from the graphical environment without doing this first. It's and ATAPI IDE-drive. I have an scsi-drive to and it works ok. Why this?
