Is this a midi controller/keyboard etc.?

If so, then freshmeat.net would be a good place to start for midi recording software. Rosegarden looks promising as it's similar to Cakewalk and one that I will be trying whenever I get my other pc with the Roland keyboard midi controller and Roland soundcard all setup.

You could also try searching Google ( www.google.com/linux (http://www.google.com/linux) ) for i.e. KORG PXR4 to see if anything is found.

im not sure its MIDI or not.. but i i thinks its MIDI of some sort..right now i try to get my pc with my pxr4 and my guitar and keyboard.. therefore i thinks its in MIDI protocol because it doesnt said in the manual book and i dont know if i need any extra software or hardware to set it up. currently im using Mandrake 8.2 in a i586 amd-k6 processsor with 5 Gbyte hard disk. korg pxr4 use USB connector to connect to the pc and the file transferred to the pc will be saved under stereo-format MP2 (MPEG1 Audio Layer 2) files, the effect user file in *.EFF, setting file in PXR4.INI and card recovery in *.LOG .
and if its MIDI how i gonna set up the soundcard and etc... can somebody give me a good guide or links to some documentation please?
thank you very much..

For USB, try www.linux-usb.org (http://www.linux-usb.org)

Google as posted above for searching for i.e. midi devices or KORG or digital recording etc.

freshmeat.net to search for midi applications.

There could be midi howto's/faq's at www.linuxdoc.org (http://www.linuxdoc.org)
