When I installed Linux Mandrake 8.2, my modem doesn't dial-up, and Linux says I have a Conexant HSP MicroModem 56K, and so I think I need a driver update to make this modem work with Linux, so can anyone help me on making my modem work, or finding a driver update! Please I really wanna get the Linux, any help! thank you! :confused:

The Modem HowTo (http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Modem-HOWTO.html) may have the answer.

I think that's what I had (a winmodem) when I got into Linux. Any external modem will always work.

There is a project writing drivers for winmodems (search for linmodem on google to find it.
