I just decided to get back into using linux last disro i used was mandrake 9.0 I can see alot has changed since then. Last time I was on this forum was back before the split, hopefuly I wont ask too many dumb ?s please try to tolerate me I know to search first but I am quite rusty.:p

You can still use your old user name. So what was your old name you went by? Mandrake is no longer called by that name, its called Mandriva and the latest version is Mandriva 2010. You can also get live-cd's for quite a few distro's so you can try different Linux versions without installing. Plus a live-cd will help you see if there will be any hardware issues.
