Kubuntu 9.04 Shiretoko won't connect gmx.com

This may have been posted. If so, feel free to delete it.

I could not connect to gmx.com with my Kubuntu 9.04 on my Dell laptop. It turns out a few other URL's also won't accept Shiretoko (Firefox) 3.5. And camino whatever that is, also has the same problem.

The solution for Shiretoko is to go to about:config

and find general.useragent.extra.firefox

and change Shiretoko/nnn to Firefox/nnn and it works.

Sorry not to search before posting but we are exploring some 500 year old ruins later today, and I gotta' get ready.

I faced this problem on Ubuntu as well... using Epiphany solved it.

Some people do solve problems by changing apps. Others prefer to solve the problem by fixing it. This is strictly personal preference.

But, I posted the fix for others who might prefer to use Firefox.
