I could be wrong but I think you can stay in "Guest Mode" and not try the Seven Day trial. Just click on Connection. I'm also thinking that freechess.org will be back soon.

I have no idea when it will be back but I think it was still there last week. Hopefully, it will be back.

I just found this on Wikipedia:
