I have never had this issue before. For some reason after went back from version 10 to 9 when i open a page such as youtube to watch a video there is a grey box with a giant play button in it. Even ads that are flash have this. Before I can view the flash I have to click it which now when I click it all I see is a black box. This is very annoying because on youtube after i click it i can't see the video all i can do is hear audio. Anyone know how to fix this?

Had the same problem with my laptop on a new installation of Debain/Lenny. Really irked me to no end. I came across the offending program while surfing forums. The issue is the installation of swfdec. I believe its a Open Source for Flash.
I deleted all referenced to it and install flashplayer-mozilla. End of problem. Hope this helps.

well it seems the package flashplayer-mozilla is no more. It is refered to by another package which is flashplayer-nonfree.

My bad. I do recall a different name being used for Flash. Should work. But get rid of that swfdec should fix this up.

Also make sure flashblock, the firefox plugin, isn't causing the issue.
Why did you go back from flash 10?

Did a search on my PC's OS (Debian/Lenny) for 'flash' using 'Synapatic Package Manager' and 'flashpalyer-mozilla' and 'flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound' are installed.
Do with that info as you will. It's up to you.All I can tell you is, it worked for me.
