Just a heads up to anyone who games on Linux and hasn't been following this, the latest major patch to Savage 2 includes the long-awaited Linux client. You can get it here (http://www.s2games.com) for free. You can play on a demo account for a certain amount of time (I think 5 hours) for free, and you can play local LAN games for free forever (great for LAN parties). After that you need an account, but it's only $30 (once, not a monthly fee). It's cheaper than most games because they self-publish and are using entirely digital distribution.

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know about a game from a smaller developer that is supporting Linux (even after some significant setbacks, but that's a very long story).

So when I posted this, I hadn't played the game since beta, and then it was under Wine and the performance was horrible (not entirely Wine's fault either) and some of the gameplay was pretty broken, but I recently sat down and actually tried the full release version. I was really surprised because it has gotten a lot better. The first few games I ended up on good teams so I had an easier time with it, but even when I've lost it's still been fun. There's definitely a learning curve, but for the moment at least you can still have fun even if you don't know the game inside and out.

So if my first post sounded a bit indifferent that's because it was. But I am now solidly in favor of this game and the developer (like I said, there were major setbacks on the Linux port having nothing to do with the game or Linux and I'm pretty sure most developers *cough*Epic*cough* would have just given up on it). If nothing else, you might as well give it a shot since it's a free download and who knows, you might just find out you like it.:)
