I reverted back to backup of install kernel and now kernel compile worked. I still would love some feed back if anyone knows what causes this glitch. It has happed before on compiles for me but only within OpenSuSE. I generally do not compile suse kernels because it seems to fail more than not for me for some reason. Gentoo never have problems with that anyhow.

Um, what error again? Can you paste it in here directly (the full error)? The title of this thread doesn't really make a lot of sense as an error message... :)

time shift offset

was the error it failed on but whatever I did not save the out put and got past it with my backup kernel booted. I did a google search and came up with nothing. So I asked here. I have now just switched to vanilla kernels and all is good. Thanks

Well, I suppose if it's working, then good enough... I'm just a bit dissatisfied with fixes like that. ;)
