Can you upgrade to something more modern? Try CentOS at www.centos.org. I know the current RPMs will work with it just fine. gamblor01 12-02-2007, 12:34 AM Wow RedHat 9.0?!?!? I'm pretty sure that distro qualifies for the "older than dirt" category. I definitely second the idea to install something newer. Fedora maybe? Most of the newer distros come with MySQL already installed too. It might be worth taking a look. klackenfus 12-02-2007, 03:28 PM Fedora would be fine but if it's for a server side app, like MySQL, I'd want a server OS and CentOS is really just RHEL with the proprietary stuff removed. If you're used to Redhat 9, CentOS would be the least painful transition, in my opinion. justlinux.com
