Hey everyone!
I'm running Ubuntu, and this box has an ATi All-In-Wonder 9200 (radeon).
When I installed ubuntu, everything was working wonderfully. My only issue was that when I was viewing PDF's, there was a little lag when rendering, especially when scrolling down the page.
I decided I'd try and update the graphics card drivers. Here's what I did:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-generic restricted-manager
sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
sudo depmod -a
Everything worked! The rendering lag was gone and everything! Now though, I've lost my visual effects :( I know it's not important to most people but I've grown used to having them, and I like 'em besides :-P
I went into prefs/appearance, but when I tried re-enabling them, I got a dialog box that said they couldn't be enabled.
Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
