horizontal bars/streaks on my monitor

hello all =)
there are some horizontal streaks/bars on my monitor ...
i had those bars with my old crt monitors,
but it's still there after i've replaced it with a LCD monitor,
any ideas about what i can do to get rid of those bars?

Your problem could be your video cable, card, or driver. What distro are you running? What's your video card and what drivers are you using?

When did the problem appear? Do they show up under a different os (assuming you have one around)?

I've had a problem with screwing things on the screen before myself. But it resolved itself when I updated drivers.
