Modem Diagnostics

Hi,

I have inherited a server that has two modems attached. I believe that one is for dial-out sms and the other is for pop3 dial in. Is there a tool i can use or a way i can verify this ?

Obviously being a server i only have remote cl access.

Take a look at your /etc/inittab - it should have lines to tell one of the modems to listen and pickup/prompt for login.
