Lenny doesn't go mobile

Hi There,

Recently I have installed Debian Lenny 64 on my Inspiron 1501 Notebook. After a netboot-install (the netinstall from 2nd August does not work, it has a bug!!) the system functioned perfectly; all got installed. However, the wireless does not seem to work.

It's this one:

It is recognized when it installs, but when I try to get it working I alwys get the following comment:

lo Interface doesn't support scanning.

eth1 Interface doesn't support scanning.

Warning: Driver for device eth0 has been compiled with version 22
of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 20.
Some things may be broken...

eth0 Interface doesn't support scanning : No such device

where the eth0 is the wireless extension. The wired extension eth1 functions as I am connected to here through it.

I tried getting it to work as I did in Debian Etch (in Dual boot on this notebook) where it functions flawless, but here it does not work most likely due to the version incompatibility.
Now I am in a loss as to what I can do to make it work. Does some one have an idea how to proceed? :confused:

OK, I fixed it.
Never mind.

Solution:
Ignore the warning, that is not essential.
1. Use the drivers from Dell and unzip them.
2. install Ndiswrapper (native are not functioning AFAIK)
3. load the driver with ndiswrapper
4. reboot

NOTE:
Do NOT enable your wireless details in the Network section, this will disable your wireless (no idea why).
