Is anyone else interested in this?
I have been anxiously awaiting the release of the ASUS eee PC and just today i heard about the Medison $150 laptop. besides the XO are there any others out there that anyone else knows about?
i want to snap up the ASUS eee PC when it comes out but don't want to jump too soon if something else is just on the horizon.

That Medison laptop is almost certainly a scam, it is far too cheap, cheaper than they even would be able to buy the components for. If you need more reasons why it is likely to be a scam, read the comments on the Slashdot article for it.

The phone lines are temporarly closed
I'll have to check back in about 7 weeks and see if there are any complaints or if it is the real deal. (I doubt it though)

I've heard of Medion and they generally do cheap computers that aren't all that bad, but I don't know if it's someone trying to rip off the name for a scam or not.
I've personally not come across a "MEDISON" computer before.

The ZDNet reporter is a f-ing idiot.
If you are trying to expose a scam you don't go around telling everyone including the scammers what you are doing, now they can treat him as a special case, ship him a laptop and use him as bait to get more people to part with their money.
I'd love to get a decent laptop for that price, but they are selling this for less than what the OLPC XO-1 currently costs (with better specs as well), and that is being produced on a large scale by a non-profit organization.
