Welcome to Just Linux.

You need to tell us a bit more information.

Did you have XP and Vista booted separately? or by a common boot loader from either one of the MS systems?

Did you use one hard disk or have one system in each hard disk?

Did you use the bios to switch the boot disk order and which one is the first boot disk?

If you have installed each of the two MS system alone as the first boot disk into a "c" drive then the cure by Suse's Grub is just to switch the boot disk order on-the-fly.

Post the following information if you can

/boot/grub/menu.lst-----> to tell us how Suse goots itself, pressumably Suse is the only one working now.
/boot/grub/device.map-----> to tell us how Grub see the order of the disk

and the output of the terminal command (to tell us how the partitions are arranged in your hard disks and where XP & Vista reside)
fdisk -l
