Is it possible to set up evolution to use my AOL mail account? If so, how do I do it? DrChuck 06-17-2007, 09:54 PM 1) consider installing thunderbird for your email. Evolution is fine, but I like thunderbird because it is lighter weight ( just e-mail ) and works across linux and windows platforms. 2) these instructions (http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/faq.html#aol) for using AOL apply to thunderbird specifically, but should give enough hints (server names, etc) to get evolution working as well. drChuck Eycks 06-23-2007, 09:29 PM Well, I did set up Evolution to use AOL. Here is how. Start with a new mail account. If you have an old one delete it. Put in what they ask for but leave the defaults alone. The sender server type is SMTP and the server is SMPT.AOL.COM:587. The receiving server type is IMAP and the server is IMAP.AOL.COM:143. Note that these server lines are all in CAPs. This is unix, not Windows. Now if some one could just tell me how to set up an address book. justlinux.com
