Linksys WMP54G and Linux

[funnybug]

I converted an xp desktop over to Linux (Debian) and now cannot connect to the wap wireless. There were no hardware changes, just the OS. Any help or ideas would be helpful, as I'm totally new to Linux.

This pc is located in my [detached] garage, and I really don't want to run cat5 wire from the house to it.

A quick search on Google for Linux (http://www.larsen-b.com/Article/28.html) (G4L) said you probably have to settle with a non-free solution.

It depends on the kind of chip on your wifi card wether it runs smoothly with your Linux or not.
