Hi,
This is a pretty basic question but i dont know howto fdisk/mbr without a floppy drive. I need to remove a older Linux and install another one without loosing xp, but i always done it with a floppy before but this laptop does not have a floppy drive. Thxs

hmm...why destroy your bootloader? grub will be able to boot windows just fine!

The other alternative of retoring XP's MBR is boot up the XP installation CD (or any Win2k installation CD) and issue the command in recovery console
fixmbr
The two methods are described as Task B1 and B2 in the last link of my signature.

However just like je_fro said you don't need to restore XP's MBR as the new Grub or Lilo can boot XP just the same as you existing Linux boot loader.

Another way, should you prefer for some reason is to use grub for dos. See my post http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148110 for further explanation.
