Since the last few weeks I've been thinking of creating a wireless access point for my home. After scouring through tons of pages for tiny motherboards, I came across this:

These are called SBCs (single board computers). However, what freaks me out is the lower part of the board (lower right in the picture). Doesn't the golden connector strip resemble those found on PCI cards?

Which brings me to my question: what is an SBC? Is it a tiny mainboard, or something else? (I did read the Wikipedia entry on SBCs, but could make neither head nor tail of it).

It could actually be a PCI connector. Googling found this:
