In short I cannot access the Internet, at first I thought it was because I did not setup the network through the network config panel properly. You I use a D-Link router, and I have it setup to use static IP address, with a trusted MAC address list, and a WAP encryption. Since I am hard wired to the router I knew the WAP was not an issue, since I am using the same computer as when I access the internet with Windows XP, I figure the MAC address was good, it had to be the static IP the reason why I could not access the internet. I thought I did not set up the IP and subnet properly, even thought I could not tell you how you could mess something up that is that easy. Long story short, I logged into the router, entered my username and password and started to change settings when I realizes, that if I could log into the router the IP was setup and working just fine. So now I am at a lost as to why I cannot get onto the Internet through my network. I know the network is connected to the Internet because I am using my wife's Mac right now to post this thread. I checked the "Connection Settings" in Firefox control panel and it is only for proxy servers. So I am at a complete lost as to yet I cannot access the Internet through I network. Is there some setting I am not doing for Linux properly?

Just a little background info since this the first post on this board. I am computer enthusiast, with 15 years experience on building computer and servicing them, unfortunately all Windows based. About 4 years ago I started playing around with Fedora Core 1, read Linux Journal, Tux Magazine, and so on. I finally committed myself to a couple of months ago to switch over completely to Linux when I ran into my biggest headache to date, you read more here (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146522).

Can someone be too kind as to let me know what I am not doing right, in order to get my computer running Linux to access the Internet.

Thanks

Got it working, did not have to primary and secondary DSN setup properly. Works beautifully now.
