Hi friends...

I am facing problem while i am trying to connect remotely with my Linux machine... I have follwing situation:-

1. One machine runs on RH 9

IP Address: 192.168.0.2

2. Second machine runs on Windows XP Pro.

IP Address: 192.168.0.1

3. Both can ping each other successfully.

Problem is i am unable to connect remotely... Neither with telnet nor ssh... FTP is also not working...

I tried with following commands:-

1. telnet 192.168.0.2

Could not open connection to the port 23: conncetion failed...

2. ftp 192.168.0.2

ftp: connect: unknown error number

3. i also tried with ssh using putty, but i got following error message

Error: connection reset by peer...

Later i tried all ie, ftp, telnet, & ssh on host machine using loopback, and it worked fine...

Wat is the reason behind this... Plz help...

Thanks in advance...

Are the telnet or sshd services running? Is the firewall blocking you?
