Cheers leonpmu 07-04-2006, 11:02 AM I got Suse 9.3 to use a D-link USB wireless out of the box. Plugged it in, found it, conf'ed it, it worked... 10.0 too... Levinin 07-04-2006, 11:51 AM Thanks, I'll look at SuSe. Anyone else? A couple of choices would be good. dkeav 07-04-2006, 01:15 PM even if they dont, its just a matter of either recompiling the kernel, or installing ndiswrapper cybertron 07-05-2006, 01:32 AM If you haven't already bought the USB wireless card, you might want to check out these hardware compatibility lists. The ndiswrapper one uses the Windows driver, while the other two are Linux native. There may be more drivers out there too, but these were the ones linked on the Gentoo wiki page.:) http://prism54.org/newdrivers.html http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/List http://madwifi.org/wiki/Compatibility For the most part I think the cards listed there should work well with most Linux distros, particularly the ones with native drivers. Ndiswrapper is a little more hit or miss, but should work to some extent. wheelnut 07-05-2006, 05:44 AM Try this site too : http://www.linux-wlan.org/ I have had success with my d-link usb wireless hardware thanks to these guys. justlinux.com
