I have installed ubuntu-6.06-alternate-i386.iso. During the install, it asks for a new user password and verifies the password, but never asks for a user name. Upon reboot, I have no idea who to log in as. I re-installed 2 more times but the installer never asks for a user name, nor does it give a hint as to what a default user name is, it just asks for a password. I have tried 'root' and 'ubuntu' and 'user' and 'default' as user names. I cannot find anything in ubuntu docs about this, and feel this is a showstopper for ubuntu. Any suggestions? Am I missing something completely obvious?
