Hi,
First of all Linux throws me around like a rag doll...*OUCH!*

I'm so used to Windows that all of thew new stuff in Linux is well, <sheepishly> INTIMIDATING! I first experimented with Suse 9.0 , got frustrated and (&*^$&%^)*% went back to Windows. Here it is 2 years later and I find myself d-r-a-w-n back to Linux for the next go-round.

I went to the 10.1 site and downloaded the Internet installation boot disk.
- btw I have a formatted 40 GB hard drive slaved to my current Windows 40.

Everything is going great until the installation asks me for the source IP address.
I'm guessing of the installation repository. Also, I chose the HTTP option before it got to this point. The program configured some settings, but this one I don't have a clue about. That's what I need help with, and if I'm going about this the wrong way, tell me so.

thanks,
pk

Here is the site I found by googling somewhat the same as title.

http://queens.db.toronto.edu/~nilesh/linux/suse-10.1-install/

Please notice the capital SL-10.1 - this is relevant as you will not access otherwise. This person has done a great job.

I also would at first only install what is necessary or you may find yourself sitting at your computer for quite some time. Or , you may find, as I did, that many files have trouble installing, and so every time this happens there is a pop up which requires a response manually. ( I did not see an option which read,"Repeat this answer everytime.") The choices were Abort, Cancel, Ignore , so I rigged some knives on my keyboard over the "Alt" key and the letter "i" for Ignore and went and took a nap............. Don't do this, as your computer will freeze. lol. You can take a nap if you want. I guess I was hoping against Murphy's Law by throwing a curve ball into an already edgy precariousness. And if that isn't a word , you can make it one...You feel me.

Hope this helps
