i have bounced around many different distros over the last 6-7 years, but use RH and RH based distros at work. i want to learn more about RH's linux and the RH way of doing things, and at the same time learn even more about linux itself. my question is, would any of the RHCE study guides out there help me do that? could anyone recommend any of them? would there be any other printed resources out there that would help me?

many thanks

IMHO, study guides are directed more to the cram for a cert exam type of thing.

Have you looked at the guides at http://www.tldp.org/ ?

Yes, I hit that site very often for general linux related stuff.

i would start by downloading the redhat guide manual . They have several manauls which will help you learn the os. I havn't used redhat in about 7 years , so i can't help to much with it.

Thanks for the tips. Over the last 5 years, I've gone over the RH guides a few times... I should probably look them over again. I checked out an RHCE book at the book store and EnigmaOne is right, they are geared for cramming... but I did manage to find some useful info out of them.
