Hi folks,

FC5_64

I'm considering to purchase either CanoScan 4200F (preferrable) or HP Scanjet 4370,both USB interface. But they are unsupported on SANE

http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-HEWLETT-PACKARD

I have been searching "The sane-devel Archives"
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/

and could not find available Backend driver for them.

Can any folk on the forum shed me somelight. TIA

B.R.

Why not take the horse and put it in front of the cart? Look on the list for a fully supported scanner and then decide whiich one will fit your needs? It may be a while before the 4200 canon or the HP are supported since no one knows the hardware/chips yet (according to the Sane developemnt list).
SANE supported scanners (http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#SCANNERS)
