i'm not sure if i'm in the right section or not. Have installed Mandriva 2006 Free and OOo 2.0.2 and want to project a presentation which shows o.k. on my Dell laptop's screen through an OnFocus projector. During bootup of laptop the projection image looks o.k. but when the laptop finally gets totally booted the projector breaks up the image very badly, as if it couldn't figure out the signal it was receiving -- maybe horizontal / vertical -- although the image doesn't scroll in any direction, it's just broken up into very small, slightly offset pieces.

Any ideas? Have a great evening! :)

Dear M1ke --

You know, after posting i continued Googling & ran across something similar. Will try changing my computer's screen resolution to something more like 800 x 600 & see it that works. Who knows, might even look up the InFocus' manual online (or wherever it is ) and see what resolution it takes!

Thanks a great big bunch for answering and with what will probably be the most correct one.

Have a great day and weekend! :)

Normally, 1024x768 is standard output for video projectors and TV's, that, would be my guess for a maximum resolution...

There are still a great many bargain-basement projector that are only capable of SVGA. That's probably what frazelle09 had.

Good luck with your presentation!
