what is a good printer, copier, fax at a reasonable price that I can use with Suse 10, it seems a lot of the ones that work are upgraded and new ones don't seem to be supported, I did have a HP PSC photosmart 2410 which was fine.

Thanks for any help.

you might be able to find one that is MacOSX supported that works with CUPS???
I assume your only wanting to print from Suse, no fax from Suse or scanning.

Just thought of this :: check out the linux printing site, it will help you with printing status / drivers for different printers.

I recently purchased a Brother MFC-210C, it's not plug and play with Linux (even needs some work to setup in Windows) but they do offer drivers and even (limited) support
http://solutions.brother.com/linux/en_us/index.html

By limited I mean they will try to help, but my problem I managed to solve on my own while they attempted to. They were lost with me because I use Gentoo and they only distribute RPMs and DEBs (I did point them towords the howto I found that worked)

But anyway, they also supply drivers for the scanner and an FAQ on the FAX functions. Not to mention they make good products at a very good price

I had an Epson cx-5400, that worked great.(till the print heads went bad). Printer and Scanner setup easily. Never tried faxing.

I've got a Brother MFC-215C that works great, although it is a little confusing to setup. But the printer, scanner, and cardreader works wonderfully, coping and faxing works without ever turning on the box, and it can print photos from the cardreader directly without going though the computer. Borderless printing is even possible. didn't pay anymore then 130 euros.

Thanks for the info, Brother seems a good bet they seem to be supporting Linux quite well, any tips on setting up a MCF210 or 215c.

Thanks again.

That's how I got mine setup with Gentoo, otherwise I'd use the instructions on their site for DEB or RPM distros

make sure you install the LPR driver, then the CUPS Wrapper ( if needed ), then the sane-backend, or the printer will conflict with the scanner ( at least it did on my MFC215 ). Follow brothers instructions to the letter otherwise. If problems do come up use brothers FAQ to solve them the answers are probably in there. Brother has tested their drivers on SUse, I just dont remember what version.
