Recover Windows prompt and Linux

Hello:

I lost my RedHat root login. I re-installed Linux now I can not get my windows prompt option. I only get the Linux prompt at start up.

Any suggestions please?

add a line to your boot manager to allow for windows to boot.
for Grub add something like:
title=Windows (whatever version)
root (hd) (drive number, partition number)
chainloader +1

I forgot to mention I am new. Basically, I can get it to start up at the root prompt so if you don't mind, what do I need to type in (step by step) to achieve this? Thanks for your help.
