i wanted to install debian weekly testing into a computer with a slow internet connection, so i was planning to download the dvd iso files from home.

but there are three isos:
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/i386/jigdo-dvd/

the first two are 4.4GB and the third 1.2GB. are they all packages? i remember in fedora the last half of the iso's were source (srpms) files. is it the same here, or are they all different packages?

(oh, and a side note, since im downloading with jigdo like they recommended, it would download a package at a time. would this cause problems with the final iso if the weekly testing mirror was updated while i'm still downloading?)

I prefer to use the FTP installs for Debian, a ~50MB ISO and then you only download/install what you really need.

Doesn't Debian have a disk listing somewhere?

yes, ftp install would be good, but unfortunately the pc has a very slow internet line. i have a fast one, so i thought i would download the iso's before i go to that house.

disk listing? how do i find that out?

oh, I can't find a thing about what's on the disks, testing or stable...

Get them all and possibly waste a DVD is all I can think of, use DVD-RW ;)

ive done alot of online gaming over the years allways on windoz, im in clan CU (chaos-unleashed) ive hosted some servers with windoz, I allways thought the linux servers were the best play, so an online buddy opened up a link for me, i down loaded 3 dvd's never knew what they were, 3 iso images i mean then i burned them to dvd, put em in the closet. last 3 times i changed hardware i had to call in to get a new key for xp, wassup with that !!!, this time i think i got the right key . in my cabinet....ill shut up.
