I have used dotnetnuke at one job, and thought it was a pretty nice piece of software. The biggest downside was that it is tied to mssql and iis. I have another job now where the server is a linux based one, and I was looking for another product that would fill the niche they need. I tried phpnuke, and was very dissapointed. It's interface is strange and clunky, not at all what I was looking for. I looked at postnuke, and its interface ALSO seems weird and clunky. Does anyone have any experience with a product that behaves like DNN? It's a pretty cool software package when it works right.

there are tons of other CMS projects out there

you could have a look at plone, mambo, the list goes on, in fact freshmeat.net has a nice in depth list of them ;)
