Thanks dkeav 01-11-2006, 11:32 PM that is usually done via an rc/init script during the init process, of course that varies from distrobution to the next and since you neglected to mention what your running... knute 01-12-2006, 01:56 AM Tip: Beware of tachyon emissions overloading the system. (bofh style) If you would be so kind as to tell us what distro you are using we could tell you. Choozo 01-12-2006, 02:51 AM Give '/etc/hosts' a try. serz 01-12-2006, 09:48 AM It depends on what distro you're using... it could be /etc/sysconfig/networking-scripts/ifcfg-eth0. dkeav 01-12-2006, 02:24 PM could be /etc/network/interfaces knute 01-12-2006, 02:35 PM From another posting (http://justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?t=134346) he as FC2 installed on his machine. I'm so ashamed... with the combine number of posts....you guys should've known you were supposed to search their previous posts to find out what they're using...or better yet...by what type of fonts they were using when they posted!</smarta$$ sarcasm> :D knute 01-12-2006, 05:57 PM It wasn't so much the thing of going and looking at other posts to find out what he had, it was the fact that everyone kept GUESSING! dkeav 01-12-2006, 09:17 PM aye that was last week, hes on something new this week never trust noobs ability to stick with a distrobution, it will let you down, therefore i ask or i could just do the smart thing and just not help on posts like that, smart questions get smart answers i suppose ;) cirman 01-13-2006, 03:21 AM Hey I,m a Senior Citizen dkeav like I'm 76 if that qualifies :D I do not want to be a 'noob' anymore now. :o Ha. Ha. However I am hard at work reading to obtain that hard earnt knowledge that you possess dkeav  dkeav 01-13-2006, 12:43 PM why, im still a noob, we all are anyone who thinks different has yet to be proven different or atleast did a "glad no one saw that" stunt ;) ractar 01-13-2006, 01:58 PM It wasn't so much the thing of going and looking at other posts to find out what he had, it was the fact that everyone kept GUESSING! Actually, as a complete lost puppy in Linux, I appreciated the comments. While I'd have expected all of the distros to use the same, they obviously don't. Also, the OP could have looked in the multitiude of places listed by those who were guessing and taken at least an educated stab at it. dkeav 01-13-2006, 02:07 PM heh not familiar with sarcastic razzing eh, the idea was to prove a point about asking smart questions justlinux.com
