Not used to laptops and pushing CDs onto the three spring spigot thing of the CDdrive causes them to crack. Had assumed the trough in the plastic would arrest the cracks, but imagine my horror when Bjork was completely buggered.
How does one put the CD on the spigot? Even pressure all round - all three springs symultaneously depressed? Springs one at a time? Other?
Sorry if this completely cretinous.
Thanks any help.

Never had this problem myself. Are you sure you didn't do it on purpose, maybe on a subconscious level? I know I would have. :p
Thinking about how I normally do it, would be to press down with 3 fingers and my thumb (evenly spaced) as close to the center of the disc as possible.

I think the most important thing is to push close to the center of the disk. That reduces the amount of flexing in the disk as you're putting it in. Actually my biggest issue with them is taking the disk off. There's no way not to hold it at th edges, so sometimes the entire thing feels like it's going to snap.

Great thanks. I'll try three fingers and thumb close to the centre - as the bishop said to the vicar. They come off no problem.

For the record that's the worst way to do it, best way's one spring at a time.
