Printer settings won't stick with Fedora

Setting up a friend's system with Fedora Core 4, I used Turboprint to get their printer working. Unfortunately after rebooting, the settings get cleared out and I need to go through the Turboprint setup again. When using the same printer and driver with Debian, the settings stuck and I didn't have to go through the setup every time the PC was rebooted.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

Turboprint? I normally use cups, or the kde print manager...
