Hello,
Are there any advantages in using xorg instead of xfree86?
If so, can you explain me how I can uninstall the one and install the other?
My Linux OS is a Debian based one.

if im correct xfree86 is not supported anymore and is not being dev anymore. xorg is where xfree86 left off....... im not sure how to uninstall it but your using debain so it probably apt-* good look. to install its probably apt-get xorg . or something like that

Actually, I'm pretty sure XFree86 is still being developed -- but it's happening at the same glacially-slow pace that XFree86's development has always happened at. (The license is also no longer as distro-friendly as it used to be.)
Xorg took the XFree86 codebase just before they changed the license, and they've been doing development much faster.
