I'm looking for a PCI wlan card with the following features (in order of importance):
- Good Linux 2.4 support! (I don't want to put 2.6 on my server just yet)
- 802.11g support
- Decent range and signal quality
- Ability to run as an access point
- WEP & WPA support
- Price preferably under 50€
(- low CPU requirements, the server is a 120MHz Pentium 1)
(- *BSD support would be a bonus)

I'm prepared to switch to the 2.6 kernel if it supports some very good card significantly better.

Please post any suggestions, even if they are just personal experiences with some card or manufacturer.

I would go to a computer parts website and find some cards that meet your price and performance requirements. Then G4L search the model number to find out what chipset the card uses. From there you can do another G4L search with the chipset name to find out what Linux support, if any, is available. HTH.

you have a lot of wants there vs your requirements, making them all sync up is going to be a huge headache for you

i would have to suggest upgrading to 2.6 kernel, no reason not too

and i would suggest an atheros chipset based card, which is supported quite well with the madwifi driver, and is supported out of the box in all BSD's currently, G support, WPA/WEP

netgear has some very good cards for such a solution
