I recently upgraded my Ubuntu install to Breezy which includes gnome 2.12. Previously my applications that sat in the notification area of the gnome-panel would become maximized when I double-clicked on them. For example I have a news reader that sits in the notification area and when I double-click it it previously would display maximized. Since the upgrade to gnome 2.12 it opens from the notification area in a window. It isn't just the news reader, it's all apps that sit in that notification area including rythmbox and others. Does anyone know how to change this action so that when I double-click an icon in the notification area it opens the app in its previous state? For example if I am using gaim and have it windowed I would want to re-open windowed, but if my newsreader (Liferea) was opened maximized I would want it to re-open maximized. TIA.

mine works properly with Gnome 2.12

if you right-click the notification area, it doesn't have an options option so it is non-configurable unless they are hiding the settings in gconf-editor

Hmm, is your version 2.12.0 or is it 2.12.X? Just curious as I just checked the exact version (previously based it on Ubuntu docs) and it is 2.12.1. I wonder if that matters? I tried searching the Ubuntu forums to see if it was an Ubuntu bug rather than a gnome bug but didn't get anything.

Well, great. Now I'm at a loss as to what it could be then.
