I'm considering trying OpenSuse, but I have one main concern. On all other distributions, I use apt to install software and get updates to already installed software. Is there any such tool in OpenSuse that does the same thing? I remember using Suse a while ago and it lacked a good tool.

OpenSuse probably doesn't have apt-get. But, you can get apt4rpm (suse version) and install it. It does the same thing, but for a rpm-based distro.

Unless the latest version has improved, Suse also lacks stablity. Don't know why unless Novell is desperate to get something to market and is going too fast. My last trials of 8.x and 9.x were horrible.
