What is the best non-gui IRC client? I've tried compiling *****X for Centos 4.1, but its not working. Is there anything else out there that is as good/flexible/better?

JoeC0180 10-09-2005, 10:36 PM I'm not sure that it is the best client but I like 'irssi'. It is easy to use and compiled without a problem for me. http://irssi.org -Joe blackbelt_jones 10-09-2005, 11:54 PM Depends, I guess. for long, leisurely chat sessions, I also prefer irssi, which is colorful and full featured. The other day, when I was trying to install a nvidia driver for the first time and needed a lifeline, I found epic to be more suitable. Epic is the simplest, most austere irc client I know. shad0w 10-09-2005, 11:59 PM Thanks for the input. DimGR 10-10-2005, 12:45 AM weechat imagine irssi on steroids:) MorphiusFaydal 10-10-2005, 01:32 AM irssi and *****X are the ones you will find most common, and almost certainly has an RH/CentOS binary available. Epic and weechat may be a little harder to find the RPM, but source compiling will work as well.
