VT consoles only work as root

my VT terminals arnt working correctly as a normal user. when im any X windows env and try to get back to a console VT terminal nothing happens. crtl + alt + f1 .

it only works if i su into root then run x . and i can get back to a VT console terminal by pressing ctrl + alt + f1.

what permissions do i have to have on /dev/tty*

and permssions on agetty ? etc / i sure is a permission problems and not sure if i need to SUID or GUID it for normal users.

DOES Anyone know How to fix this I HAVE NO RESPONSE ?? AND i cant figure out the problem as wel las framebuffer doesnt work when i have it compiled into kernel and it use to work . and now its just broken

Probably no one replied because no one knows the answer. Replying with stuff in allcaps, which equates to "yelling" probably won't help either -- that kind of thing usually just annoys people... especially when this is a free help board -- no one here is getting paid to help you.

Perhaps providing more info, such as your X configuration file, current permissions for your /dev/tty stuff, etc would make it easier for people to help you.

yeah i just fin d it strange that no one else has had the same problem . thats all .
