Opera Free

Hey!!!

did you guys know that opera browser is free now? no activation codes or previews... the real, full version thing. it's much lighter than firefox, but i dunno if i'll switch permanently. :eek:

i wonder what this means for firefox.

Competition is a good thing!
The Opera people are working very hard to make a great browser, so the Mozilla people are going to have to keep working very hard to make a great browser.

For me, I'll still use Firefox. I know Opera is lighter, but I still prefer Firefox and then when you consider all the extensions available for Firefox to customize it especially Adblock, it is possible to block ads with Opera, but it isn't as easy and it doesn't work as well.

However, I'll at least consider installing it now, just in case.

I haven't used Opera recently. I think the last version I tried was 8... Not sure. Didn't like the way they'd changed the interface, seemed too cluttered imo.

That said I'll probably give the new version a go...
