was not sure if this should go in the "how I did it" forum OR here..........but
I had already built LFS 6.1 using Slackware as a host and installed some stuff from the BLFS 6.1 book.....it booted up and everything worked Great!.......so I decided to try building LFS 6.1 using the LFS LiveCD, with this disk you won't need to install a host to build LFS 6.1, all one needs to do is make a partition to install LFS into and this disk has all the packages and patches and the LFS 6.1 book included...............all I can say is WOW........the LFS LiveCD 6.1 can also be used as a rescue disk and it is also a full blown OS just like knoppix. I configured the X-server and startx takes me to the XFCE desktop.......I have an ADSL modem and this LFS liveCD found and configured it automagically............SO while I'm compiling the Glibc package from chapter 5........I typing this post at the same time! I can't say enough about this Great Disk and suggest that everyone download and save it for future use, even if you don't build LFS just burn the .ISO to a CD-r and keep it around for emergencies........:)
